Just uploaded a bunch of videos of our band Skunk Jive (was: Smokefree & The Bandits) on youtube. That's me, Kelvin Ng, playing harp and singing. Lotsa amplified harp content. These clips are of us playing at a prominent jazz concert series here in Sentosa, Singapore.  The month-long Jazz By The Beach concert series featured some of the best jazz talents (both foreign and local) we have in Singapore. We were honoured and glad to be part of this series.

Please let me know what you think of the amplified harp tone and playing. Btw, I was playing through a 4x10 amp. You will never guess what it is. I may be inclined to tell what it is, if enough folks ask about it ...

Nice 70's vintage Cotton PA tone!

I'll bet it's some big solid state thing. Like a Roland or one of those amps BB King plays.

Sweet playing, very diverse, not at all boring. The Bandits are a great band for a harp player. I see the speakers have aluminum dust caps. Unusual for harp rigs. Nice clean tone. I like big amps, especally when used outside. Tell us Tell us ... Pleease... cool1 cool1 Goose

Haha. Yep, it is a big old solid-state thing. It's a Roland JC-160, the out-of-production 4x10 version of the JC-120. Was part of the backline supplied. It sounded horrible on stage. Glad it turned out ok.
