You don't want to know how many pedal, non-pedal & lap steels I've got underfoot.  It's a life of GAS, for sure.

Thanks for the link.

Hi, Rick.  Ken Fox here from the SGF!  Hopefully we can get some input from a few steel players over here.  I will try to check in once in a while when not too swamped in the shop.  The 5D6B project and steel guitar amp mods has really kept us running.

Did get a chance to go the Nashville Show.  Sent a hand built amp home with Terry Bethel to try out.  It was a 5E5A clone I built a while back with a 12" speaker (same cab size, jsut a smaller speaker).  Hope to get some input from him soon.

Got to visit a bit with Buddy Emmons, Ron Elliot, Russ Hicks, Mike (Cookie) Jones and a host of other great players.  Super show and I highly recommend it!

Next one will be Atlanta and then Saluda in November  Always booked at Dallas for the other "big" show!

Rock, hope to catch up with you at a shoe and we can talk about old amps, cabinets and other fun stuff!!!

I have a Electrotone Pedal Steel that was made up here in Kitchener Ontario Canada back in the sixties(?)
It's a 10-string single and is currently being rebuilt by me, as I get parts, when I have time and hmmmm money!

The old gentleman Mr. Affeldt (the builder) I bought the Steel from was a friend of Shot Jackson, Paul Bigsby, and maybe Buddy Emmons too.

He has a Steel built for him by Mr. Bigsby and as was standard the owners name is on the instrument.

He told me stories of Mister's Jackson and Bigsby and his foray into pedal steel building, I listened to him for hours, I felt I was in the presence of someone who shaped the instrument as we know it today.

I had better make mention, I am not a schooled pedal steeler, when the rebuild is completed I'll just be a hacker.
